Telemak Newsletter October 2004
Streaming Media Technologies
Welcome

Best wishes for the New Year 2005… to you, your family and friends. Unfortunately, 2004 didn’t end in a peaceful and joyful way for all of us. We cannot forget the atrocities around the world, and certainly not the grief of so many people in Asia.

CEOTherefore we support our local 1212 project; carried by major Belgian humanitarian organizations. 3% of our January net profit will be donated to 1212 in order to let them build a future for the ones who have lost it in only a few minutes time. Please join us in our efforts.

For Telemak 2004 finished well. We increased our customer list, and had good revenue due to boosted sales and balanced cost management. I would like to thank all our customers for their continued trust in our company to bring the best audio and video to the web.

Besides the expansion of our tech crew, we invested heavily in new equipment. Our last purchase was a multi-format Sony J30 SDI player, so now; we can also accept Digital Betacam, Betacam SX and IMX tapes. We capture uncompressed video for both live and on-demand in the best possible quality. Throughout 2004, over 80% of our total production equipment has been renewed: camera’s encoders, even the editing suite.
Through 2005, our European expansion will continue: I will keep you readers posted when the time is right.

As always, I look forward to your feedback. You can send me an email at any time - either when we succeed in meeting your expectations, or more importantly when we miss. Please mail to ceo@telemak.com

News from the sales and marketing division

Now we can say what we want, write fancy newsletters and articles about it, build a fine website, but as long as you, as a customer, don’t live the rich media experience webcasting is all about, it’s useless.

Jeroen De BackerAs of January 25th we are giving away one Telemak [castpack] basic for free!! The only thing we want you to take care of is the local Internet connection towards the Internet (e.g. 1Mbps upload) and if the webcast is abroad, to take care of the travel expenses, the rest is up to us….

As of January 25th, your filled out live event questionnaires are welcome on fax number +32 53 68 33 68.
The only risks in life we regret are the ones we don’t take! Ask customers as the US Embassy/USEU, Neckermann, Telenet, European Institutions, GMFUS, Atlas Copco why they are using Telemak's services.

Throughout the first quarter, we’ll update our website with a number of testimonials, and I sure hope to see your case in there as well.
Hear you soon!

Secretary of State Colin Powell in Brussels
Colin PowellDecember 2004, Mr. Colin Powell visited Brussels. Invited by the German Marshall Fund as well and the Transatlantic Center, Mr. Powell gave an overview of some very important milestones of modern history, and looked towards the future on his farewell tour. This was a live TV production and is now available on the Internet.

Telemak was in charge of the overall broadcasting project as host broadcaster, in collaboration with the ‘in-house’ crew.
